The goal here is simply to be able to charge it without having to unplug it. You are right in thinking the PowerBoost 500C says to use a 500mAh or higher battery because of the charge rate. Charging at 1C is as fast as you really want to go with LiPo batteries. There isn''t a method of changing the charge rates on the PowerBoost boards

Hello, I have a circuit with an Arduino Nano and 16 WSB2812B LEDs that is powered by a 3.7V LiPo battery via a PowerBoost 500C (circuit diagram below). The circuit has already killed two of my batteries for some reason. The circuit initially functioned well, with the battery charging and the LEDs indicating proper operation.
